Moosey found this Classic DD last year over the ridge in Port Ludlow. He ran off and I found him in an old lady's pasture going nuts over a girl labrador!! The old lady said her husband bought "Ollie" to clear their land and build roads, I struck up a deal with her and brought him home.
Ollie has the famous Hercules DRXB 6 cylinder diesel onboard, with new rings and some new pistons installed. There was a valve job done on the heads. There is also a new rebuilt gear driven water pump onboard. He has 2 new 12 volt starting batteries and a new water temp gauge.
The blade and hydraulics are the famous Isaacson set-up, the blade is 97" wide, The hydraulics DO NOT LEAK and are very smooth and responsive.
The tracks are 18" wide - thus the moniker "Hillside Special" as this beauty is a rough terrain crawler. There is a massive Carco Model "F" winch on the stern and it just pulls to beat hell!!
Now for another great thing. Oliver really was ahead of the curve, there are no steering clutches, but rather a planetary gear set-up with brake bands - NO STUCK STEERING CLUTCHES!! you can easily pull the brake bands and have them re-lined when neccessary. It also came with another option, an air compressor to assist with steering, it presently is not hooked up, but if one desires it can easily be done.
If you are looking for a powerfull landclearing machine, "Ollie" is it.
By the way, Port Ludlow is on the Olympic Peninsula, where God grew great fir trees, women are women and "Yellow Iron" rules the woods.
Moosey says, "hey."
